Project Profile
Nunnalee Avenue Improvements
The City of Van Alstyne, Texas, engaged MPCE to begin the process of converting their aging downtown residential roadway network from asphalt roadways with open ditch drainage to concrete roadways with underground storm drains.
This project included the extension of 1200 linear feet of 12” water line, 1400 linear feet of 8” water line, 53 linear feet of 6” water, 2600 linear feet of 8” and 10” wastewater lines, 4350 linear feet of storm drain (18” reinforced concrete pipe to 5’x3’ reinforced concrete box), curb inlets and 6200 square yards of concrete pavement along Nunnalee Avenue from Van Alstyne Parkway to Baldwin Drive. A bid alternate was also prepared for an asphalt road section with concrete curb and gutter. MPCE had to develop innovative solutions that required parallel wastewater pipes (on either side of the road) due to lack of grade and vertical clearances.
Designed in 2022 | Constructed in 2023 | construction cost: $3,350,00
